Reflexology- Get Reflexed…

A new therapy that has captured the attention of not only India but many parts of the world is Reflexology. It works on the belief that your hands and feet are a Reflection of your body and internal parts and the working of these could be stimulated or controlled through application of pressure on those portions. Reflexology is a holistic therapy to treat individuals and encourage their body to self- heal. It has its roots long back with Ayurveda.

. The earliest evidences of Reflexology were found in the Eqyptian and the Chinese culture and a similar practice was noticed in India, now known as Acupressure and Acupuncture. Acupressure and Acupuncture, both work on the same logic of pressing the pressure points in a particular pattern using the fingers and the thumb, besides it also includes pricking those points.

Today many spas and salons are using reflexology in their massage therapies to relax customers. While some want to enjoy and feel rejuvenated, some involve themselves to get rid of chronic problems. Reflexology could take care of routine problems of stress, body pain, head ache, acidity, constipation, indigestion and chronic problems of insomnia, hair fall, skin allergies, hormonal imbalances, blood circulation and immunity. Our body is a complex machine and it has been provided with healing properties but due to the stressful lifestyle we lead with hectic schedules, junk food, over eating and no proper exercise, we tend to slow down internal process, drop our immunity, lower our nutritional levels and all of these eventually end up with slowing the absorption of minerals and vitamins, lowering the hemoglobin levels and scaring the attack of Body disorders.  Reflexology has definitely gained a lot of repute for itself with naturally curing people and there are worldwide centers specializing in the art of not only providing the therapy but also training on how to practice on others. Some of the international destinations where one could visit are –

–          The Reflexology Center , Honolulu, Hawaii

–          The Laura Norman Reflexology and Life Coaching Center, New York, U.S.A

–          Reflexology Center Australia Beenleigh, Australia

–          Kenko Reflexology and Fish Spa, Penang, Asia

–          London school of reflexology, London

–          Reflexology Association of Canada, Canada

This naturally healing therapy has even attracted my celebrities to beautify and de-stress themselves. After all in a competitive world it is important to stay and look fit, so I am sure the next time you go for a holiday a foot reflex would be a must try…
