Our five senses work in strong coordination with each other. So if one has any kind of ailments a good way of healing it, is by soothening of one of the senses and its effect on the others would get rid of the problem. When we smell a rose, its smell creates a soft feeling of touch and makes it beautiful to the eyes and words of praise automatically flow out. Well Aromatherapy is just one of its kinds. Aroma therapy is just another way of healing internal and external wounds through the power of smells. Aromatherapy doesn’t “cure” major illnesses but it is effective at alleviating many of the discomforts associated with them.

Natural Essential oils are the heart of aromatherapy. They have been used to:

–      Heal certain kinds of wounds

–      Improve skin tone and could make you a shade lighter

–      Regulate hormones and could keep them in balance

–      Relieve menstrual cramps and avoids pain

–      Stimulates the immunity system

–      Decrease sinus & lung congestion

–      Relieve tension headaches

Smell to Feel

To better understand aromatherapy benefits, one has to experience it first. It helps to know how your body processes smells. The sense of smell is pretty powerful. In fact, the body can distinguish around 10,000 different scents. Is’nt that unbelievable ?

As scents are inhaled, the smell travels across the olfactory nerves located inside the nose and then up into the part of the brain that controls our moods, our memories and our ability to learn. This area when stimulated it releases endorphins, neurotransmitters and other ‘feel-good’ chemicals.

Wow! That’s pretty scientific stuff… not to worry, in a nutshell, what all of that means is that smells have a subtle way of effecting your mind and emotions.

Just think of the way you feel when you sniff the scent from a fresh bouquet of flowers versus your reaction when you smell something not so fresh like garbage or burnt toast. A big difference right?

It’s a technique that uses the body’s sense of smell to help boost your mood, relieve the stress, energize and encourage better health. It’s also used to treat certain emotional and physical conditions.

Did you know that natural essential oils are the main ingredient in true aromatherapy?

For example, peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils are mentally stimulating. They can help you improve your concentration and give you a clear focus. Try mixing this combination in water and then pouring it over the hot rocks and enjoy sauna. This would open the knots of your muscles and relax your soul. These days people spend a bomb to energise themselves with aromatherapy specially when such easy ways could get you rid of old pains
