Have you ever had a feeling of fever and when you visited your doctor, he said it was nothing, it was just weakness?

When you get gum infection you start assuming its cancer and start taking precautions?

On regular basis you feel your hand or any part of your body hurts and you think of doing a scan showing it to the biggest of doctors ?

Well most of the times when you visit your doctor, you would get surprised to comprehend that the report shows nothing and you are fine. How could the doctor say so when you have immense pain and its so regular. Well the answer to this is HYPOCHONDRIASIS.

The pain is many a times in your head and when a situation arises when you require attention or there is extreme anxiety or there is a fear, the pain is automatically felt. Its more like your subcontious mind plays with a reason. When you get caught in an exam while coping or late for an extremely important meeting this is most common. The pain automatically is felt and you make that as an excuse. Its all in your mind.

Hypochondriasis is sometimes referred to as health phobia. It involves excessive precaution or worry about having a serious illness. An individual suffering from hypochondriasis is known as a hypochondriac. Hypochondriacs become unduly alarmed about any physical symptoms they detect, no matter how minor the symptom may be, they are convinced that they have or are about to have a serious illness. Often, hypochondria persists even after a physician has evaluated a person and reassured them that their concerns about symptoms do not have an underlying medical basis or, if there is a medical illness, their concerns are far in excess of what is appropriate for the level of disease.

When one falls victim to this he often considers himself ill with some or the other illness and visits a doctor many a times. All the pain in there in the mind and it acts like a mask to cover extreme of feelings. Hypochondria is often characterized by fears that minor bodily symptoms may indicate a serious illness and a constant self-examination of one’s body. Additionally, many hypochondriacs experience elevated blood pressure, stress, and anxiety in the presence of doctors or while occupying a medical facility.

Its not wrong to be sure if you are suffering or not. It is always good to get a problem diagonosed but self examination and questioning your ownself again and again along with fears and other tensions of life threatening disorders or diseases. Ensure that you are aware but not scared. When in pain first think positive and half the pain would leave you.
