Laughter is the best Medicine

This is a very old saying but can you believe that a short laugh or a small laughter could hold miraculous benefits. These days the kind of lifestyle we lead is very cyclic. We get up early in the morning, rush for work, head to meetings and get late in the evenings, let’s not forget social gathers and professional late meets and the travel we hold. Very demanding I must say but in all of this “ do you have the time to laugh ?”. Well we have lost many reasons to smile or laugh. We get away from our own loved ones and we run after materialistic things like Money, Success, Property, Fame and Growth. In this competitive run we forget about ourselves and our loved ones.

Love has been substituted with gifts and money to shop. But where is all the happiness. When there is happiness, there is a conversation and on topics we laugh. Laughter is the most inexpensive medicine but today its difficult to find. Think of the last time you laughed your heart out. Well its been ages when you held a smile, when you cracked a joke or even tickled to make someone laugh. We are so caught up in our worldly affairs that this has taken a back seat. We mock at silly jokes and hardly pay attention to anyone. We don’t feel like indulging into a conversation and feel we have grown up. These days we have laughing clubs, where you would find the old and the aged people laughing their hearts out in a particular fashion. But is that right, that is a false laughter.

If your doctor asks you to laugh is because when there is a laughter a particular element is produced in your body and its benefits are way beyond imagination but laughing clubs cannot do much here. Artificial laughter, is your life so sad that you have to try artificial methods of trying a natural act. Some of the benefits of laughter are as follows-

–          Laughter is a powerful antidote (works opposite) to stress, pain, and conflict

–          Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert

–          Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease

–          It improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems

So next time do not find reasons to sulk instead laugh at a situation you know cannot be rectified, you will come up with more ways. Connect with others and share your joyful experiences. Crack jokes and relax. Spend time with your loved ones so that do not have to go to the laughing clubs as well, give them reasons to smile and laugh, do not send them today because when you grow old, you may have to go there. Love and create love.
